Asia - Pacific Youth Training on Media and Civic Participation

Nusa Dua, Bali, 20 - 25 August 2014

UNESCO considers young men and women as key actors and partners in contributing to the building of peace, eradication of poverty, sustainable development and intercultural dialogue. With a firm belief in the potential of youth as a motor for social change, UNESCO aims to contribute to the empowerment of youth in the Asia Pacific Region through the Asia-Pacific Youth Training in Media and Civic Participation. In corporation with Indonesian Future Leaders, BBC Indonesia, Bali TV and Radio Global, UNESCO Jakarta Office organized a six-day Youth Training Program at Nusa Dua, Bali, attended by 75 young girls and boys from 18 Asia Pacific countries. Officially opened by Charaf Ahmimed (Program Specialist of Social and Human Sciences of UNESCO Jakarta), the program included a cultural site visit to Ubud and a familiarization visit to news rooms at Bali TV and Radio Global FM Bali.
